The Rainmühle Industrial Museum and Art and Culture Center processed grain from 1300 to 1982. It is located on the Rotbach below the Rainmühleweiher with weir, penstock and water sluices. In the upper mill, the machinery from the first epochs of industrial culture, which was driven by the Benningen Francis turbine with water power via gears, has been authentically preserved on five floors: Soder, Daverio and Bühler grinding mills; crushing chair, sack threading machine, semolina cleaning machines and planner made of wood; On the two floors of the lower mill there is the roller corridor from the pre-industrial grain processing. The mills represent the beginning of our industrial culture. The completely preserved Rainmühle with the preserved hydroelectric power plant is considered by experts to be a unique industrial cultural monument of Swiss-wide importance and is the largest historical industrial plant with the oldest machinery in central Switzerland. From April to October there are guided tours on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment also for school classes.
