We offer our customers an extraordinary assortment of
pastries and confectionery, suitable for every need or events
both public and private.
Directly across the street from the Collegiate Church of Sts. Peter and Stephen
you will find our pastry shop (Peverelli Tea Room), where you can
can enjoy a variety of light meals, desserts, chocolate
coffee and liqueurs. Coffee has a memorable place in the history of the
local confectionery. Castelgrande once housed a mint
that created a coin called Bissolo that depicted a
snake coiled around a pole.
If you look closely at the snake, you will see that it is cut into
three pieces, each representing one of the three cantons:
Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden, which once came to power here in
Bellinzona. This snake is often painted around the city.
In 1997, Giulia Clerici-Cariboni, an employee of the venue, was
was inspired by the image by creating the tasty treat that won the
Bellinzona Pastry Shop competition called Bissoli.
