Speiserestaurant Ried (Freienbach)

About us Café Sarenbach was built in 1957 by Adolf and Isola Jägge-Hürlimann and opened the following year. Mrs. Margrith Leuthard bought the café in 1968. In August 1973, the canton granted Mrs. Leuthard's second application the alcohol patent; the new name Café-Restaurant Sarenbach.

The Käthy and Georges Flühler-Suter family bought the business on May 28, 1979, and planning for a restaurant began. Café-Restaurant Sarenbach closes its doors on February 24, 1980. After a three-month renovation, the new "Ried" with 65 seats was opened on May 17, 1980. A big upswing in the following years required a kitchen extension in 1985 as well as new toilets, a roof construction and a larger sun terrace.

On March 1, 1997, chef Roger Flühler took over the business.

In 1999, planning began for a hall and conservatory expansion, kitchen and office expansion, wheelchair access and an IV restroom. The first building application was submitted on January 20, 2000. Due to objections, a second project was presented on December 6, 2002, and a third project was presented on July 29, 2005.
