*Georgos Stylianou has taken over the kiosk of Badi Winkel. He spoils his guests with fresh and homemade products.

The start could not have been better. Georgos Stylianou raves. In mid-May (2017), he started work in the kiosk at Strandbad Winkel and has already been able to spend several sunny days in his new second living room. But the best day, says the native Cypriot, was a rainy day. All bathing guests stayed, and the tables were quickly pushed together under the sun awnings to end the day in a cozy and convivial atmosphere. And it is cozy in the Winkel Badi. What Georges Stylianou and his wife Sandra have put together in this short time immediately creates a vacation atmosphere. Everywhere there are wooden tables - restored by the new leaseholder himself - decorated with splendidly blooming flowers and fresh herbs. But a very special jewel is waiting right next to the actual restaurant: In the back, next to the bar, the 47-year-old has created a bar, also constructed by himself, which immediately invites you to linger with its lovingly painted wooden boards. On top of that, free tap water with fresh mint and lemon is offered.

On the plates only fresh.

Freshness is also the recipe of Stylianou, who runs the kiosk with the support of his family and the kitchen crew. Not only is the entire infrastructure new, but the plates also offer only fresh products. "We don't serve defrosted products," says the experienced restaurateur, who also runs his own catering company and was restaurant manager at LaSalle in Zurich for 17 years. In addition to the usual but tried-and-tested badiessen such as fries, chicken nuggets or hamburgers - also freshly prepared - there are changing daily specials such as grilled specialties, a wide variety of tartars and homemade pasta with all kinds of sauces. "We want everyone to feel comfortable here and get their money's worth," explains the new tenant. A look at the lunch menu, which is offered as a three-course meal with salad and dessert for 21 francs, leaves no doubt that he will not succeed in this. Another novelty at Strandbad Winkel is a table directly on the lake, which can be reserved from 7:30 p.m. for a maximum of 30 people or simply as a romantic têtê-à-têtê. "Erlenbach has few meeting places," finds Sylinaou, a father of two who lives just a few meters from his new place of work, "Winkel-Badi is to become a new one." Soon this meeting place should also be possible in bad weather, the municipality has assured a rainproof cover. Whether with or without sunshine - a visit to the Badi Winkel is always worthwhile!
